A little history
The Palais des Nations was built between 1929 and 1936 within the Ariana park in Geneva. Since 1966, it has housed the European headquarters of the United Nations and is the largest UN center after New York, the headquarters.
Each year, more than 25,000 delegates are welcomed and numerous works of art are exhibited. Visits are very popular. The Palais des Nations receives more than 100,000 visitors each year.

What is there to see at the Palais des Nations?
Guided tours are offered through the Human Rights Room, the Salle des Pas Perdus, the Assembly Hall and the Council Chamber. You can also see a film presenting the activities and objectives of the United Nations Office in Geneva as well as the donations from various countries to the institution. The guides will also inform you about the current activities of the UN and the history of the Palais des Nations.

What are the opening hours for visits to the Palais des Nations?
Visits are open all year round from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. From April 1 to September 30 the Palais is also open on Saturdays at the same times.
