Works Thonon | Change of route between the Philosophes stop and the Genévriers stop
The City of Thonon-les-Bains is launching a major project that will impact traffic in the city center and its surrounding areas from September, with implications for all public transport in the urban area until the end of February 2025. From September 2 and for the duration of the works, the route of line 271 is modified between the Genévriers stop and the Philosophes stop.
- the Place des Arts stop is moved to the Jean Moulin stop in both directions,
- the purchase of transport tickets from or to the Jean Moulin stop will always be made by selecting Thonon-les-bains, Place des Arts,
- the Thalès stop will be served in the opposite direction to the current route.
The line 271 is divided into two branches which meet at the Douvaine Mairie (FR) stop and terminate at Geneva, Rive.
Route between Thonon-les-Bains and Geneva
A first branch runs from Thonon-les-Bains to Geneva. It serves the following municipalities:
- Thonon-les-Bains
- Margencel
- Sciez
- Massongy
- Douvaine
- Veigy
- Geneva
Route between Excenevex and Geneva
The second branch connects the Excenevex peninsula to Geneva. It serves the following municipalities:
- Excenevex
- Yvoire
- Nernier
- Messery
- Douvaine
- Veigy
- Geneva
Current rates for cross-border travel
As soon as you cross the border, Léman Pass pricing applies. You must have a single Léman Pass transport ticket to complete your entire journey.

Internal travel within French territory
You can use the Alpbus lines to travel only within France (without passing through customs). To do this, you'll need a local ticket for your entire journey.
For any travel pass purchase, you must be in possession of a LIT 271 card.
Order the LIT 271 card free of charge by e-mail or from the Maison de la mobilité located at Place de la gare in Thonon-les-Bains.
For occasional travel, choose:
- Single ticket
Valid for the selected journey or 180 minutes from the issue time. - Day pass
This ticket allows you to make an unlimited number of trips in the same day, from the start to the end of service. - 10 trips ticket
This ticket allows you to save up to 2 trips.
If you travel regularly on the line, opt for:
- Monthly travel pass
- Yearly travel pass
This ticket allows you to save up to 2 months of travel pass per year.
Tickets are available in adult and youth fares*.
*Under 16 for occasional tickets and under 26 for travel passes.

Tickets for zone 200
If you get on or off at a stop in Veigy (zone 200) towards/from Geneva, you must have a Multizone 10, 200 ticket available on the tpg Webshop or the tpg+ app.
