La Grange park, a breathtaking view of the Rade
In the spatial and vegetal continuity of the Eaux-Vives park, dotted with remarkable trees and a magnificent beech forest at the top of the park, the beauty of this park finds its apogee in the superb floral arrangements, including its famous rose garden, which are arranged around the mansion which dominates it.
The Théâtre de l'Orangerie and the Ella Fitzgerald stage offer Genevans a summer program of varied shows.
A little history
La Grange park is classified as a historical monument. The site testifies to human presence already in the Neolithic period through its two lying menhirs, visible at the top of the park.
In 1945, at the bottom of the park, in the sun and sheltered from the winds, the large rose garden was laid out, which gave rise to the Geneva International New Rose Competition.
The Rose Garden will be completely renovated in 2020-2021 to become a lush rose garden maintained in a natural way without any phytosanitary products.
